Swim England has teamed up with the Royal College of GPs (RCGP) to launch the ‘Swimming as Medicine’ series which aims encourage healthcare professionals to consider recommending swimming and aquatic activity to their patients.

The series outlines how transformative being active in water can be for individuals, and the initial video features Dr Hussain Alzubaidi, a GP in Leamington Spa and RCGP Lifestyle and Physical Activity Clinical Champion.

Information has been shared with pool operator partners and healthcare organisations, such as ourselves, who understand the value of ‘swimming’ and have the opportunity to reach healthcare professionals in a range of settings, to help them realise this too.

We are planning a whole month to celebrate one of our favourite genres.

Our local celebrity crime writer – Martin Edwards – will be devising an exhibition for all sites and a quiz with a signed book for a prize. We will be having our own Thursday Crime club with some fabulous events.

This June, Warrington Central Library is excited to participate in town-wide Pride Month celebrations.

We will be welcoming the fabulous Drag Queen Story Hour UK (time and venue to be confirmed), featuring Aida H Dee. Aida will take children on a fun and interactive storytime adventure – no ticket is required, just drop in and enjoy the excitement!

In partnership with British Triathlon, we will be hosting another series of monthly GO TRI Local events at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.

Celebrate the coronation of King Charles III with us at our Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 7th, from 11 am to 2 pm at Warrington Central Library! No booking is required – just come along and join the festivities!

Explore the diverse range of activities and services we offer, which are all designed to support and engage communities across the region. From fitness classes to educational events, there’s something for you! Here are 10 activities you can participate in at your local LiveWire centre.

Birchwood Leisure & Tennis Complex is undergoing a comprehensive redevelopment, which will see a range of exciting new facilities added to the site. The redevelopment works started on Monday 3rd April, with completion expected by late summer.

During the first phase of works, there will be no showering facilities available for approximately 12 weeks. However, alternative changing facilities have been provided, and shower facilities will be available at other LiveWire sites, such as Woolston Neighbourhood Hub, which is only a 10-minute drive from Birchwood.
