Review:

Set in America in the 1860’s this book tells the story of the March sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy during the Civil War anticipating their fathers return.

The four sisters are very different: Meg, the oldest is level-headed, Jo is rebellious and headstrong, Beth is musical and shy and Amy, the youngest is artistic and precocious.

The sisters navigate the ups and downs of growing up through adventures and hardships and mature into ‘little women’ whilst learning the importance of love and trust along the way.

Considering this book was written over 100 years ago, unlike other classic novels the simple style of this book is very easy to read and really portrays the importance of family.
