Tom Kearney, Lifestyle Officer, Lead Smoke-Free, said: “SmokeFree Warrington is trying to make it as easy as possible for Warrington residents – and businesses – to access support this Stoptober.  To do this we have a combination of face-to-face and virtual support sessions available to. Many people try to quit smoking with will power alone, but the statistics show people are more successful in quitting with support – so please do reach out to our team so we can help.

Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet member for public health and wellbeing, Cllr Maureen McLaughlin, said: “We all know that quitting smoking isn’t easy, but with willpower, determination and the right level of support, making this significant change could be one of the best things you’ll ever do for your health.

“Initiatives like Stoptober are playing a major part in this work, providing support, education and motivation for people who have been thinking about giving up but haven’t quite managed it yet.

“There’s plenty on offer from advice on quitting to support with improving your health and lifestyle, meaning October is the perfect time to begin your smoke-free future.”
