On Your Marks, Get Set, GO TRI With LiveWire This Summer

LiveWire has announced this year’s British Triathlon-partnered series of monthly events ‘GO TRI Local’ at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.

Ideal for those who are looking to take their first fitness steps, GO TRI is just that – a chance to go and try for new and aspiring participants who are keen to dip their toe in swimming, cycling and running in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Activities include a 300m swim, 6km bike and 3km walk/run. This non-competitive, friendly and light-hearted event, open to all aged 15+, is all about having fun and building your confidence. Specialist equipment is not needed, all you need is:

General kit list:

  • Trainers, shorts/leggings, t-shirt or top, water bottle, towel

Swimming:

  • 1 or 2-piece costume for ladies, trunks or shorts for men, a wetsuit if your swim is open water and don’t forget your goggles!

Biking:

  • Bike* (any bike will do), helmet
    * If this GO TRI activity uses spin bikes, you don’t need to bring your own bike *

Running:

  • All you need is a pair of trainers

The monthly events will take place at 12noon to 2pm on Sundays 26 June, 30 July, 28 August, 25 September, 30 October, 4 December, 18 December, 29 January 2023, 26 February, 26 March, 30 April, and 28 May. Entry fee is just £5.

Are there lockers avaiable to store valuables?
Yes we have communal lockers accessible in the building

Is there somewhere to store my bike?
We have bike racks at the front of the building / when the event is taking place a member of staff will supervise bikes at the transition point please bring bikes locks

What time should I arrive?
We ask that participants arrive for 1130am and they will be given a short briefing

Is there a swim change area?
Yes the usual swim change area is accessible during the event

Are bike helmets compulsory?
Yes, without a helmet you will not be permitted to take part

Is the event taking place on a closed off course?
No, its located around public pathways. Therefore we ask that participants take extra care when navigating the course

Do I need a high quality bike to take part?
No, any bike is fine. As long as its in correct working order and safe
