Warrington Libraries’ first LitFest is a hit!
Warrington Libraries’ first LitFest festival has been hailed a huge success with more than 1,000 local residents enjoying author talks, craft activities, storytelling and creative writing events in a week of celebrations, from 4th-11th June.
From children’s activities to author talks – Warrington LitFest featured a host of different events to inspire and encourage the whole community to get involved.
The week-long celebrations included the performance of The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist by Neil Gore of Townsend Theatre Productions, at Padgate Library, which was sponsored by Torus and Unison.
The Jubilee family fun day attracted 500 participants with sessions by Cheshire Fire and Rescue, Mulan Culture and The Warrington Signing Choir. Local artist Stef Woof led on the creation of a piece of artwork with the help of everyone that attended.
Plans are in the pipeline for the next literature festival, so keep your eyes peeled for more information.
