LiveWire promote water safety to young swimmers

Child Safety Week (4 – 10 June) is run by Child Accident Prevention Trust to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented.

Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death in children, in the UK.
LiveWire says it is proud to play its part in trying to reduce this figure, and will be discussing water safety tips during all swimming lessons throughout the week.

It’s almost summer, which for many people means it’s time for water – outside pools, summer holidays and trips to the beach. In honour of Child Safety Week, LiveWire will be making sure that everyone knows how to have fun and stay safe near water.

LiveWire’s Managing Director, Emma Hutchinson, said: “It is so important to remind people to stay safe near water, especially at this high-risk time of year.

“We’re very proud to have helped over 4000 people to swim as part of our Learn to Swim Scheme in 2017, providing potentially lifesaving skills – helping children to learn the skills they need to stay safe and enjoy the water”.
