Jubilee fun for the family at Warrington Central Library

Jubilee Fun For The Family At Warrington Central Library

Warrington Central Library is inviting families to join in the Jubilee fun from 10.30am on Saturday 4th June with lots of activities to celebrate the Queen’s platinum milestone.

The family fun day includes a performance from The Warrington Signing Choir, storytelling from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service including a chance to have a look around their fire engine, and an interactive history role play from Imagining Histories.

There will also be lots of opportunities to get crafting with Union Jack bunting, a 3D printing demo, jewellery-making and cake decorating, as well as paper crafts and calligraphy from Mulan Culture and Warrington Museum’s ever popular Crafternoons.

Throughout the day artist Stef Woof will be creating a piece of artwork with the help of everyone who attends which will then become a permanent mural commemorating the Platinum Jubilee.

You can take a break with tea and cake while you watch the Jubilee slide show and take a trip down memory lane with items from the museum collection and items specially made by some of Warrington craft groups.

The Jubilee celebrations mark the launch of Warrington LitFest – a full week of events organised by LiveWire to encourage reading for pleasure. The events run from Saturday 4th to Saturday 11th June and include storytelling, performances, creative writing, author visits and more.

Highlights of the festival include:

  • Drag Queen Story Hour UK
  • An Evening with Author Sarah Ward – available online or in person
  • The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists One Man Show

All events in the festival are free and the programme can be seen here – https://livewirewarrington.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/99276-Warrington-Lit-Fest-Brochure-2022-v3-1.pdf
