Stages 1-7
Following Swim England’s Learn to Swim Framework, these lessons build on the learning from pre-school lessons or support new starters with the building blocks to Learn to Swim. Beginning with building water confidence and then introducing skills throughout the stages which focus on water safety, technique, stamina and endurance, there is a focus on enabling children to become competent in all strokes and safe in the water.

Did you know that 1 in 4 children leave primary school unable to swim 25m?

Enrolling your child in swimming lessons can also support their journey through school and give them the fundamental skills to support them to achieve their Key Stage 2 School Swimming and Water Safety awards too.

Stage 1

  • Travel independently
  • Water confidence
  • Floating

Stage 3

  • Travel 10 metres on the front and back
  • Push and Glide
  • Submerging and travelling

Stage 5

  • Swim the four recognised strokes
  • Water Safety
  • Performing acrobatic movements

Stage 7

  • Swim up to 100m
  • Perform a dive
  • Skills obstacle course

Stage 2

  • Jump safely
  • Introduction to kicking
  • Exit without support

Stage 4

  • Kicking 10 metres in four strokes
  • Log Rolls
  • Floating Shapes

Stage 6

  • Swim wearing clothes
  • Swim 25m
  • Demonstrate understanding of exercise preparation

We currently have a waiting list for lessons – children can be registered from birth and we will be in touch when a place becomes available as soon as possible after your child turs 4 years old.
