Home Library Service
If you are unable to visit the library because of ill health, disability issues, carer responsibilities or are shielding or self-isolating you can register to join our Home Library Service; this can be for a long or short-term period.
You will be allocated a volunteer who will choose books – matched to your reading interests and needs- and deliver them to your home.
The volunteer will visit you regularly to collect and exchange items by an arranged agreement.

Autism-friendly Libraries
All of our libraries are autism friendly and we encourage people with autism, their parents and carers to visit our libraries.
We have introduced an autism-friendly hour at Warrington Library, every Saturday between 10am and 11am. We avoid making any excess noise to make the library quieter and calmer to help customers with autism and other additional needs.s.
Customers with autism and their friends and families can access our Beamont Suite as an area which is particularly calm and relaxed with lots of natural lighting. The library also has a promotion of various autism-related books. In addition, we have two calm bags packed full of equipment to help ensure that your visit is as pleasant and as stress-free as possible.
Also:
- We display posters in all of our libraries to promote we are autism friendly
- We have provided staff training
- We have created a straightforward autism-friendly guide, or ‘social story’ to using Warrington Library, and we will be rolling out user guides to all our libraries in the near future
