Disability and inclusion tennis for everyone!

LiveWire’s disability and inclusion tennis programme at Birchwood Community Hub, offers fun and fitness for all.

This initiative, launched earlier in the year, at Birchwood Community Hub, underscores LiveWire’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle for everyone in the community.

The programme features a range of tailored sessions, including Parkinson’s Friendly Tennis, designed to accommodate individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Held every Friday from 1-2pm, these sessions provide adapted courts and engaging tennis games, promoting physical activity and cognitive challenges. Participants are also invited to enjoy tea and coffee from 2-2.30pm.

Additionally, LiveWire offers a comprehensive Disability and Inclusion Tennis Programme, catering to diverse needs with sessions such as

  • Walking tennis for over 50s
  • Visually impaired tennis, and
  • Wheelchair tennis.

Alexandra Day, Tennis Development Manager at LiveWire, expressed excitement about the programme’s launch and encouraged feedback and suggestions for further adaptations. Sessions are priced affordably at £3.00 each, with bookings available through Birchwood Community Hub.

To join any of these invigorating sessions, interested individuals can contact Birchwood Community Hub at 01925 458130 or email aday@livewirewarrington.org.

The renovations include upgraded flooring, a vibrant coat of paint, enhanced sound and lighting systems, and the addition of a new projector and screen.

Excitement filled the air at the grand opening event held earlier last month where members got their first taster of the revamped studio.

Now open to the public, this revitalised space will give members a fresh and dynamic cycling experience like no other.

Broomfields Pool

Your poolside process is changing

The poolside process for dropping off and picking up children attending swimming lessons is undergoing changes as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the Learn to Swim Programme.

By reassessing our procedures, we aim to alleviate overcrowding and minimise disruptions during lessons. These adjustments will facilitate smoother transitions for members, enhancing their overall experience.

Read about the changes here.

Members are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new processes, which will be supported by signage in changing rooms and assistance from site teams.

Parents are reminded that only authorised individuals may stay poolside, with viewing available from designated areas. These changes will be implemented across all sites from Monday, May 13th, 2024.
