Woolston Neighbourhood Hub to temporarily close
Woolston Neighbourhood Hub closed yesterday, Thursday 4 September, following legionella testing of the water supply. The Hub will remain closed while further work is undertaken.
We are now working with specialist contractors who are investigating the Hub’s water system and providing guidance on control measures that can be put into place.
To reopen safely, the Hub’s water network needs to undergo a full disinfection regime. We will then need to test the water again to confirm that the bacteria has been eliminated. This means it may take a number of weeks before we are able to make a decision on reopening the Hub.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing to our members, visitors and other residents who access local services from the Hub. Our priority is your safety, and while we have closed the Hub as a precaution, please contact your GP if you have any health concerns or are displaying any symptoms.
For library users:
- During the period of closure, all fines on books from Woolston library will be waived
- Items can be renewed online where required
- Please remember – LiveWire libraries offer free e-books and e-audio items
- People can also use all other LiveWire libraries

For leisure customers:
- Woolston’s fitness classes have been relocated to Orford. We have introduced additional classes, and increased class numbers, to accommodate Woolston members. View the class timetable for more information
- Remember – you can use your membership at any of our other leisure sites. Please email leisure@livewirewarrington.org if you have any questions
For Home Instead users:
- Home Instead has relocated to Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub
