Which sites run Water Wellbeing sessions?
We deliver Water Wellbeing sessions across all of our sites, mainly through Aqua Relax sessions. However, Bewsey and Dallam Community Hub was built with a primary focus on providing pool sessions for people living with long term health conditions, and therefore, has a more extensive Water Wellbeing Programme. This is supported by it’s unique offer of a hydrotherapy pool.
However, most of our pool sessions are a positive step for people looking for low-impact, supported exercise to manage long term health conditions.
Health Professionals
As a health professional, how could Aquatic Activity benefit your patients?
How to refer patients through to the Water Wellbeing Programme?
- Patients can be referred through our Lifestyles Team by a health professional
- Alternatively, we accept self referrals for programmes such as Good Boost
- If advising patients to simply access the pool to manage a health condition without a need for support then patients can attend sessions such as our Aqua Relax sessions and pay-as-you-go, booking on via our app or directly at site. Alternatively, memberships are available
Our Water Wellbeing Programme can support people:
- Living with joint and muscle pain (MSK issues)- may be long term or recovery after an injury
- Living with Neurological conditions e.g. Parkinsons/MS/Dementia
- Susceptible to falling or having mobility issues
- Who struggle with the impact of land-based exercise
- Who are overweight and looking for a first step back to exercise – aquatic exercise takes the weight off joints and the buoyancy properties can make movement easier.
