Birchwood Community Hub
A welcoming space for fitness, learning and community.
Birchwood Community Hub brings together high-quality leisure, library and community facilities all under one roof. It’s a place where people can be active, connect with others and enjoy a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
The redevelopment of Birchwood Hub was funded by Warrington Borough Council, using income from the sale of the former St Oliver Plunkett school site. This investment was committed to improving local community facilities for everyone in Birchwood.
Birchwood Community Hub now offers modern, accessible spaces designed to support wellbeing and community activity.
Key improvements include:
- Modern library: A former bar area has been transformed into a bright, contemporary library with a dedicated children’s space and computer facilities.
- Enhanced reception and changing rooms: Refurbished to create a more comfortable and welcoming experience for all visitors.
- Upgraded fitness suite: Equipped with a full range of brand-new fitness equipment to support every workout.
- Holistic wellbeing: Leisure, library and community services now operate seamlessly together to support physical and mental wellbeing.
- Ground-floor Group Cycle Studio: A purpose-built studio offering both instructor-led and on-demand Les Mills virtual classes.
- First-floor fitness studio extension: An expanded studio space providing even more choice and flexibility for fitness classes.
Birchwood Community Hub continues to grow as a vibrant destination for health, learning and connection, a true example of how investment in community facilities can make a lasting difference.
