Pool programme refresh launches at LiveWire
LiveWire’s updated pool programme goes live on Monday 6 May, with bookings open from today. With some changes in place, customers are encouraged to check the latest pool timetables before attending.
New sessions
Two new sessions have been added as part of the updated programme:
- Single lane swims – ideal for swimmers training for a triathlon, gala or working towards a personal fitness goal. A simple, traditional lane setup.
- Aqua Relax – a gentle, health-focused session designed for anyone swimming to support long-term health conditions or rehabilitating after injuries. With a relaxed pool set up, people can use the sessions to gently swim or support rehab or relaxation.

What kind of swimmer are you?
LiveWire sessions are tailored for different needs. Most swimmers fall into one of the following groups:
- Beginner swimmers – at the start of their journey, often attending lessons as children or adults
- Fitness swimmers – using swimming to maintain overall wellbeing, typically attending lane swims or aqua fit sessions
- Competitive swimmers – training for events or maintaining performance; likely to use single lane sessions
- Swimmers for health – managing long-term health conditions or injuries, using Aqua Relax or Accessible Swim sessions
Learn to Swim with LiveWire
LiveWire is proud to partner with Swim England to deliver their Learn to Swim framework, offering:
- Ducklings (ages 0–4)
- Stages 1–7 (for children aged 4+)
- SEND-specific lessons (available at Orford, Bewsey and Dallam)
- Adult sessions (for beginners and those wanting to improve)
Spotlight on all Stages 1-7
If your child is in the early stages of Learn to Swim, here’s what they’ll be learning:
- Stage 1: building water confidence with fun games and basic skills like bubbles, floating, and face-in-water exercises
- Stage 2: introducing key movements like kicking and short-distance swims to grow confidence
- Stage 3: preparing for the main pool, learning to swim without aids like noodles or discs
Performance pathways
For those progressing into competitive swimming, or returning after a break, LiveWire runs a successful Performance Swim Programme. Open to those at stage 6 or above:
- Junior performance squads (in partnership with Warriors of Warrington)
- Masters swimming sessions
