Volunteering opportunities with LiveWire

LiveWire is pleased to offer a variety of volunteering opportunities whatever your interest or availability. For those who are primarily interested in books and learning we can offer roles as a Read to Me Volunteer.

If leisure and lifestyle is more your thing then a variety of roles are available with opportunities as Active LiveWire Ambassadors, Health Walk Champions and Community and Wellbeing Ambassadors.

There are even opportunities for young people to get involved. You could help to shape library services by becoming a Reading Activist. If you would like to help deliver a range of sporting activities for children, other young people and families you might like to become a Youth Sport Activator.

If you have some time to spare and you’re interested in volunteering with LiveWire we would love to hear from you.

For more information please contact Wendy on 07730 075966 or email wmolyneux@livewirewarrington.org

Are you friendly and welcoming?  Are you interested in meeting members of the public and telling them all about the fantastic things that LiveWire offers?  If so, then you might like to be an Active LiveWire Ambassador and help plan and deliver the smooth and safe running of events and activities either within LiveWire sites or out in the community.

Community and Wellbeing Mentors play an active part in promoting leisure, libraries and lifestyles within LiveWire venues and at community and wellbeing events across the town.  Supporting health programmes, Community and Wellbeing Ambassadors will also use their own experiences to encourage and motivate others.

Health Walk Champions welcome walkers to the walk and make sure that registration forms are completed.  They lead and manage walks by following a designated route, usually in conjunction with other walk leaders making sure they are enjoyable and safe.     There are also opportunities to gain a recognised Volunteer Walk Leader qualification.

Reading Activists give young people new skills and opportunities through reading activities in their local library.  They also assist with designing and helping to deliver events and projects for other young people.

As a Youth Sport Activator you will assist in the preparation and delivery of a range of sporting activities for children, families and adults with a variety of needs in LiveWire venues or out in the community.
