Vikings take over Warrington Museum & Library with free family activities
Warrington Museum & Library is taking a step back in time this weekend with a range of free, family-friendly activities.
Join Warrington Museum & Library between 11am and 3pm this Saturday as it travels back over a thousand years to explore the fascinating world of the Vikings.
The Museum Street venue is set to transform into a historical hub of activity as Culture Warrington and LiveWire team up to present an unmissable day of fun and games.
Taking centre stage in the library will be Viking reenactors, who are set to regale audiences with a number of authentic games and live music, while our very own storytellers, Thor and Loki, deliver two 45-minute performances at midday and 2pm.
Meanwhile, visitors can cast their eyes over intriguing artefacts while budding artists can try their hands at making Thor’s famous hammer pendant upstairs in the museum between 1pm and 3pm.
Wendy Molyneux, strategic library manager for LiveWire, said: “We’re so excited to welcome Warrington families to the Museum & Library this Saturday.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the whole building while also delving into the fascinating world of the Vikings.
“From craft activities to storytelling sessions and amazing artefacts, we’ve got something everyone will enjoy!”
Viking Day takes place at Warrington Museum & Library between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 9 November.
