Quit smoking this ‘Stoptober’ with help from LiveWire
Warrington smokers are being urged to kick the habit this ‘Stoptober’ – with extra help and support from LiveWire’s Smokefree Warrington team on offer throughout October to mark the annual nationwide stop smoking campaign.
Smoking remains the largest cause of preventable death in England, and LiveWire’s stop smoking service provides free specialist stop smoking support and advice to people in the Warrington area as well as supporting Workplaces in the borough with guidance and support to make their organisation SmokeFree.
Earlier this year the service was named by the NHS as the second best in England at helping residents to quit smoking in four weeks.
It’s a success the team hopes to build on during the 28-day Stoptober drive with increased support on offer to both the general public and workplaces.
The focus on this year’s Stoptober campaign is making sure all residents and employees are aware of LiveWire’s friendly stop smoking support and advice, which includes a number of new methods of supporting people stopping smoking. These include:
- Text message support
- Telephone consultations
- Facebook consolations
- Support for those in Hospital
- Workplace events and sessions
During October, as well as dedicated staff support sessions at businesses, a number of public drop-in events have been organised across Warrington to mark Stoptober, when LiveWire staff will be on hand to give stop smoking advice and information.
