Penketh Library – Local History Month
Local residents in Penketh, Great Sankey and Cuerdley are being encourage to celebrate Local and Community History Month this May.
Friends of Penketh Library and Penketh Library are asking residents write down their recollections of their local area and help to create a lasting legacy for future generations. Whether you’re an adult or a child anyone can join in and help create a piece of local history.
Share your memories with Penketh Library and they will be displayed throughout the month and will be featured on The Friends of Penketh Library’s social media channels. Lead LiveWire Advisor Susan Morris said: “We would particularly like children to join in with the project. Their lives today will be history one day and we think it’s important that’s recorded for future generations.” Anyone who wants to contribute is asked to drop off their recollections at Penketh Library by Monday 30th April 2019. All contributions will be kept after the month in file for future reference to help relive local history.
