LiveWire update following new Government guidance on Tuesday 23 June

getuback

Following on from the Prime Minister’s announcements of Tuesday 23 June, please see below two updates from LiveWire regarding Leisure and Library services

LEISURE

Following on from our previous communications, we have continued with putting in place a wide range of health and safety measures at a number of our leisure sites in the hope that they could re-open for group exercise classes and gym sessions from early next month, should the Government allow.

However following the Prime Ministers announcements on Tuesday 23rd June it is clear that reopening will need to wait until the necessary Government approval is given.

While we are disappointed not to be opening our doors sooner, given the importance of exercise to both physical and mental wellbeing, we will continue our hard work to ensure that we can be ready to resume our leisure services as soon as we are able.

We know how important our services are to our customers and members and we truly can’t wait to get you back at our sites as soon as we are able.

LIBRARIES

We welcome the announcement by the Prime Minister that libraries can reopen from early July.

We recognise the importance of libraries to our communities and this is why we have been working very hard over the past few months of closure to put in a place a range of previously-announced measures that will allow us to reopen a number of library sites across the borough – in a safe manner for both customers and staff.

We will be announcing full details of initial reopening of selected library sites very soon, and look forward to welcoming our customers back.
