LiveWire Leisure Facilities – Important Update for Members 01.07.20

Final preparations are being made by LiveWire for when Government approval is given for its doors to reopen.

LiveWire has announced that in line with Government directives the organisation is hopeful that leisure facilities at its sites will be able to reopen soon.

As part of LiveWire’s proposed Phase 1 reopening the organisation plans to reopen leisure facilities at its Hub sites; Great Sankey, Orford Jubilee and Woolston Neighbourhood Hub for group exercise classes and gym use.

All classes and gym sessions must be pre-booked in advance online.

Outdoor tennis will continue at both Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub and Birchwood Leisure & Tennis Complex.

LiveWire recognises that some people will not feel ready to come back to centres yet, or may be nervous about it. As such, the not-for-profit organisation have committed to reassuring that membership fees will continue to be suspended during the initial opening period, and will not automatically restart any payments without giving prior notice.

Members will be given the choice, to either continue to suspend, resume their membership fees, or to attend on a casual basis and pay per activity.

Members who do opt to resume membership fees will gain access to a brand new ‘LiveWire at Home’ offer (usual price £5.99 per month) – weekly schedule of online classes conducted by the LiveWire Group Fitness Team, available as live streams or to watch on demand.

IMPORTANT:

Members who wish to unsuspend their membership to be able to benefit from all-inclusive access to the activities available at the point of reopening should complete the online form (link below) – this applies to both monthly direct debit and annual members.

Reopening plans have centred around the safety of customers and staff, and are aimed at giving customers plenty of space to enjoy their chosen exercise in a friendly, safe and hygienic manner. We are able to allow lots of room to allow for 2m social distancing while keeping all the high quality equipment we know our customers expect – we have been able to keep over 90% of our equipment in use, redistributed around our sites.

The plans include:

  • Pay as you go options as well as all-inclusive memberships.
  • Utilising outdoor and indoor spaces for physical activity.
  • A contactless check in process and new one-way systems around parts of buildings.
  • Social distancing in reception, gym areas and group exercise classes.
  • Redistribution of gym equipment around Hubs to allow for social distancing.
  • Enhanced scheduled deep cleaning schedules, including equipment, and hand sanitiser available for customers and staff.
  • Weekly schedule of online classes – ‘LiveWire at Home’

Pre-booking will apply to both the gym, and group exercise classes.

LiveWire is currently reviewing the recently released Swim England guidance to assist in planning for
reopening pools but is not yet at a stage when it is possible to confirm the reopening of pools.
