Learn 2 Swim Update

The demand for swimming lessons is higher than ever, LiveWire, like leisure operators nationwide, has a shortage of Swimming Teachers following the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

We are working proactively to address this staff shortage, but it will take time and in the meantime, there will be some occasional disruption to our programme, for example due to staff illness and the resulting shortage of cover.

Our programme is currently at full capacity across Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, Broomfields Leisure Centre and Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub, with places available for improvers at Woolston Neighbourhood Hub.

This, combined with the impact of Covid-19 and the high demand for lessons, means a longer than normal waiting list for a place on the Learn to Swim Programme. For context, we are currently inviting children who joined the waiting list between January and March 2020 to begin lessons, as places become available.

We are trying to keep disruption to lessons to a minimum, and for those on the waiting list, we will be in touch via email when a place becomes available for  – there is no need for people on the waiting list to contact us for an update.
