Gold medal success for LiveWire Learn 2 Swim graduate Kathleen Dawson

Success for Kathleen Dawson at Tokyo Olympics!

LiveWire is sending a huge Congratulations to Kathleen Dawson who won Olympic Gold alongside Adam Peaty, James Guy and Anna Hopkin in the 4 x 100m Mixed Medley Relay last weekend, with a World Record time in Tokyo 2020.

Kathleen began her swimming journey on Livewire’s Learn 2 Swim Programme at Great Sankey Leisure Centre before progressing into the Development Squads programme and competing with Warriors of Warrington.

Kathleen is a backstroke specialist and also competed in the 100m Backstroke event at Tokyo, qualifying for the final and coming in 6th.

A LiveWire spokesperson said: “We are immensely proud of Kathleen’s achievements and hope that she will go on to inspire many more children to want to learn to swim and maybe be go on to be Olympians for GB in the future.”
