Events at libraries to support entrepreneurs
Warrington and Lymm libraries will each play host to a networking event in support of ‘Small Business Saturday’ in partnership with The Colony Networking Group on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 December.
The free events will give entrepreneurs the chance to hear from business experts during several short talks covering sales and marketing topics, including how to promote your business on social media.
There will also be a drop-in advice clinic and a question and answer session covering local business resources, as well as time to network with like-minded business people while enjoying complimentary refreshments, and an opportunity to try out some speed networking.
In association with #Love Warrington, Warrington Library will also host a business breakfast on Wednesday 6 December, specifically targeted at small businesses.
Guest speakers will include John Laverick, head of development at Warrington & Co and Cllr Dan Price, chair of Warrington’s UK City of Culture Bid Board.
With more than 30 years’ experience in engineering and construction, John has been involved in the delivery of major development and complex engineering projects, including the regeneration of both Newcastle and Sunderland city centres.
He is now responsible for the delivery of all major regeneration and development projects in the borough, including the Time Square and Bridge Street development.
Cllr Dan Price is a proud Warringtonian who is passionate about the opportunities the borough offers to those living, working or visiting here. Having first trained as an apprentice engineer, Dan is now an engineering consultant in the pharmaceutical industry.
As well as being the executive board member for culture, he is a staunch advocate for the arts and the fundamental role they play in attracting and retaining talent for Warrington’s vibrant business base.
Wendy Molyneux, strategic library manager at LiveWire, said: “It’s fantastic to be able to bring these events for local small businesses to our libraries.
“Providing a launchpad helps them achieve their aims and as they flourish, supports economic development and provides job opportunities”.
