Broomfields Leisure Centre – Fitness Suite Update – 29.07.22

In partnership with Warrington Borough Council we have been liaising with various contractors in order to understand the extent of the works required. The assessment report has now been received concluding that localised repairs to the fitness suite suspended ceiling will not suffice, and that a full replacement is required. Together with Warrington Borough Council we are now working to understand the full implications i.e. costs and timelines for both the suspended ceiling replacement, and for the mechanical and electrical work required in association with the suspended ceiling system.
At this stage, we are unfortunately unable to provide any timelines. As soon as we can be clearer on the anticipated re-opening date for the fitness suite we will communicate further updates.
In line with our previous messages, this will impact on some of the main centre opening hours, working around the wider site programme. We therefore advise that all customers/members check our website for pool programme and group exercise class details, and ideally pre-book your place before visiting.
Note that all programmed swimming, group exercise classes, sports hall bookings, and outdoor activities on the 3G all-weather pitch will run as normal unless you are contacted by us and informed otherwise. The Superstars school holiday programme will also be operating as planned.
