Birchwood Leisure & Tennis Complex to undergo exciting redevelopment

Birchwood Leisure & Tennis Complex

Birchwood Leisure & Tennis Complex is set to undergo a comprehensive redevelopment, which will see a range of exciting new facilities added to the site. The redevelopment works will begin on Monday 3rd April, with completion expected by late summer.

The project will be carried out in four phases to minimise disruption:

  • Phase one begins with a reconfiguration of the changing rooms and the installation of a new ground floor dedicated group cycle studio.
  • Phase two will see an underutilised bar area transformed into a modern, open-plan library with a children’s area and public network computers.
  • Phase three involves the refurbishment and expansion of the upstairs studio for group fitness classes, alongside the refurbishment of the current fitness suite.
  • Finally, phase four sees the revamping of the entrance area and foyer.

After the main works are complete, the tennis hall floor will be improved, and new curtains will be installed. The team is working closely with contractors on the finer details of the works, and regular updates will be provided to keep members informed.

No showering facilities

During the first phase of works, there will be no showering facilities available for approximately 12 weeks. However, alternative changing facilities will be provided, and shower facilities will be available at other LiveWire sites, such as Woolston Neighbourhood Hub, which is only a 10-minute drive from Birchwood.
