Your child is never too young to join the library. It is free to join the library and to borrow books and getting a library card is easy. Simply visit your local library with your child and tell us a little bit about yourself. You can even join online.
If you are a childminder ask about our special ticket which entitles you to borrow extra books for the children you care for.
This is a national scheme which aims to promote the enjoyment of books and the pleasure of reading by providing free books for babies and toddlers.
All libraries in Warrington offer the Bookstart bear club scheme which encourages young children to share stories by offering rewards. LiveWire libraries also join in with National Bookstart Day every year. Visit the Bookstart website.

Booktime is a national programme that promotes reading for pleasure and encourages family engagement in shared reading at an important transition stage in children’s learning and development. It encourages children, parents and carers to read together for pleasure.
