'Live well with LiveWire'

Pools at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub and Woolston Neighbourhood Hub are open for pre-bookable public swimming including lane swims, family swims, accessible swims and Aquafit. All three sites are also delivering swimming lessons.

Please click HERE to view the current swimming timetable.

Limited LiveWire sites are currently available in line with member demand, and also due to site-specific practicalities of maintaining social distancing measures. We would like to reassure our members that these factors are being closely monitored to help dictate when our other sites and their pools will reopen. At this present time we are unfortunately unable to provide any fixed timelines on this.

LiveWire’s Learn to Swim Programme is currently being delivered across Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub and Woolston Neighbourhood Hub, with a reduced programme. Current members are being prioritised for places at present but if you are interested in registering your child on future lessons please complete our online application form and they will be added to our waiting list.

Spectating will be limited across all sites, with viewing only available for parents or guardians of children attending lessons in the Teaching Pool and Main Pool Shallow end, or if they are under 8 years old and in Stages 5 Higher or above. All other parents will be asked to wait outside the building  during a lesson.

Spectators should be from the same household as the child (unless a household support bubble has been formed) or somebody who has a consistent (formal or informal) childcare arrangement. Siblings are also allowed to spectate if necessary due to reasons such as childcare.

At Woolston Neighbourhood Hub, spectating will be available on the balcony and bridge with sections marked out on the floor.

At Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, seats will be available in the spectating area for children in the lower stages. Seats for use will be highlighted and parents will be asked to wipe down their seats using the wipes provided as they leave.

At Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub, limited viewing will be available in the viewing gallery, with live streaming of lessons taking place in the Conference Room for parents. It is hoped that this will be place for 14th September.

When in any of the spectator areas, any additional children in your care MUST be kept close by and you should all remain socially distanced from anyone you do not live with, or who is not in your support bubble.

PLEASE NOTE:

From Monday 14th September, as per Government guidance all customers will be required to wear face coverings inside all LiveWire leisure sites in areas where people are likely to gather for periods of time and where 2 meter social distancing may not always be possible.

The two specific areas coverings are required will be:

  1. On entry to the building and all internal queuing areas (not external).
  2. When spectating activities within the building (e.g. swimming lessons).

The normal exemptions apply in terms of those who do not need to wear facemasks.

LiveWire Development Squad sessions have returned across our sites with a temporary programme which will be reviewed on a regular basis.

Lane swimming will take place in the Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub main pool with double width lanes to ensure social distancing can be observed. Lane capacity will be a limited, and therefore, pre-booking essential. These sessions will be for adults or competent swimmers of 11 years or older.

Bookings can be made online via the LiveWire app or by calling the Customer Hub on 01925 572504. There is no fee to book for current members. Non-members are also welcome for a fee of £4.20 per adult and £2.10 per child.

When attending a Lane Swimming session we have put together this list of steps so that you know what to expect at your first session:

  1. On entering, please follow signage for swimming and queue, spaced 2 metres apart, until allowed access on to poolside.
  2. When allowed to proceed to poolside by a member of staff, you will be provided with a swim tub. This is for your personal belongings. Tubs will be numbered.
  3. A member of staff will direct you onto poolside where you will get ready for your swim. It is advised that you arrive to the session ‘swim ready’, with your swimming costume on under your clothes.
  4. All lanes are double width to allow for social distancing whilst swimming. It is essential that swimmers observe social guidance in and around poolside.
  5. There will be a one way system on poolside with entry to the pool available at the shallow end and the preferred exit route being at the deep end. This is to avoid overcrowding at the same exits and to reduce contact points around the pool. However, the steps in the shallow end are available as an exit for those who need them.
  6. The steps in the shallow end are available as an alternative exit for those who need them.
  7. All lanes will have a one way swimming system in place with each lane alternating clockwise/anti-clockwise to ensure swimmers are not moving alongside each other for a prolonged period.
  8. Where possible, keep moving whilst in the lane. If you need to stop in between lengths, please keep yourself to the corner of a lane so that other swimmers can easily turn.
  9. No overtaking is allowed in lanes.
  10. When finishing your swim, exit from the deep end, where possible. Walk around the pool, using the one way system, and collect your swim tub.
  11. Poolside showers are available for a quick rinse if necessary. Changing room showers aren’t available.
  12. Then, make your way to either the male or female changing rooms, where a range of cubicles or communal changing spaces will be available for you to dry off and get changed.
  13. When ready to leave, swimming tubs can be left by the changing room exit,
  14. Follow the exit signs out of the building, using hand sanitiser as you leave.
  15. Changing rooms will be cleaned in between sessions.

For a family swim the teaching pool will be sectioned off into quarters with a family able to book a section of the pool. A family can consist of up to 2 adults and 4 children, with all participants needing to be from the same household to ensure Covid-19 guidance is followed. Equipment such as children’s arm discs/floating aids can be brought to the session but will not be provided by LiveWire.

Family Lane Swim sessions will take place in the Main Pool with one lane available during a Lane Swimming session, where families with children between the ages of 8 and 11, who can competently swim at least 25m continuously, can book places for themselves and their children. A maximum of 2 children can be booked with one adult. Places are limited.

Bookings can be made by one adult from within the group – online via the LiveWire app or by calling the Customer Hub on 01925572504. If this adult is a paying member then the cost per family is £5. If this adult is a non-paying member, including a Starter Member, the cost per family slot is £10.

Booking for the Main Pool Family Lane Swimming session needs to be made via the Contact Centre on 01925 572504. General Adult and Child swimming prices apply.

When attending a Family Swim in the teaching pool, we have put together this list of steps so that you know what to expect at your first session:

  1. On entering, your family will be allocated a changing room cubicle, marked 1-4.
  2. You will find a couple of swim tubs in your cubicle, marked with the same number as your cubicle.
  3. Get changed ready for your swim, placing all your belongings in the swim tubs provided. We advise that you arrive to your session ‘swim ready’ with your costume underneath your clothes.
  4. Don’t leave any personal belongings in your cubicle.
  5. Family toilets will be available in the changing room, with one family allowed access at a time.
  6. When ready, bring your swim tubs with you to poolside, staying together as a family unit where possible.
  7. You will be shown to your dedicated area in the teaching pool by a member of staff. There will be a one way system in place around the teaching pool.
  8. Families must stay within their dedicated area of the teaching pool – pool equipment such as floating aids and small toys can be brought into the session but we ask that these are kept within your section of the pool.
  9. Following your swim, collect your swim tub from poolside, use the one-way system and return to the Family Changing room.
  10. If necessary, poolside showers will be available for a quick rinse.
  11. Please use the same cubicle as before your swim (1-4)
  12. When ready to leave, tubs can be left in your cubicle. Follow the exit signs out of the building.
  13. Please remember to use the hand sanitiser before leaving the building.

When attending a Family Swim in the Main Pool the process will follow similar to a Lane Swim with the use of the Male and Female Changing Rooms following a swim.

Booking will be available via the LiveWire website and App using your username and password seven days in advance. It is however important that you initially register for the Online service and we have your current email address registered on our system as this will act as verification, along with your membership card number.  We have prepared this flowchart to help you through the booking process.

For all swimming sessions, we ask that you come ‘swim ready’ which is arriving with your swimming costume under your clothes and showering poolside before you enter the pool. Changing rooms will not be available for lane swimming prior to a session, except for a family swim session where families will be allocated a group changing cubicle.

For lane swimming, members will be asked to walk straight to poolside, where they will be asked to place their clothes and belongings in a tub which will be left on poolside during their swim. Lockers will not be in use.

Following a swimming session, poolside showers will be available for a quick rinse if necessary, we would like to encourage swimmers to shower at home prior to swim. Limited showers will be available on poolside and changing room cubicles will be in use for you to get dried and changed.  Showers in the changing rooms themselves will not be available for use.

Changing rooms will be cleaned regularly in between sessions.

Families will be allocated a group changing cubicle on arrival for a family swim where they will be able to change for the session. A couple of tubs will be provided to place belongings in and take to poolside. No lockers are available and no belongings are to be kept in the cubicle during the swim session. Families will then return to their allocated cubicle after their swim to dry off and get changed.

Please note: no family changing facilities are available at Woolston Neighbourhood Hub. Changing facilities will be available in the Male and Female Pool Changing Rooms.

When attending a swim there are a limited number of toilets available in the changing rooms which are clearly identified with signage. In the Family Change, at Orford, there is one set of toilets available which can be used by one family at a time.

The normal baby change facilities will be available during family swim sessions. These will be cleaned regularly in between sessions.

Sauna and steam facilities are currently not available for use.

Limited accessible changing facilities are available at our sites upon request. These need to be booked through the site you will be attending, to ensure there is an accessible changing space available during that session and to avoid double bookings. We ask that people arrive swim ready so that less time is needed in the changing room pre-swim. Limited access to lockers are available near our accessible changing facilities for belongings to be placed during a swim. Post swim, showers will be available for a quick rinse in the accessible changing room, but no toiletries should be used. Showering is being encouraged at home where possible. When attending a swimming session we ask that where possible you arrive at the start of the session, as we are unable to staff the entrance for the whole hour. There will be a member of staff on the entrance for up to 10 minutes after the session. If you are delayed and arrive later than this, please notify the member of staff positioned at the main entrance who will be able to direct you and allow you entry. However, please arrive on time where possible!

Yes. A number of our lane swimming sessions in the initial programme include a lane for accessible swimming. Ducklings sessions will not be available during the inital opening phase.

Aquafit sessions are being delivered across Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub, Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub and Woolston Neighbourhood Hub. They will be taking place in the shallow end of the main pool and booking is essential.

  5. Aquafit sessions will take place in the shallow end of the main pool which will be cordoned off so that participants don’t go out of their depth.
  6. There will be a one way system on poolside. Entry and exit to the pool will be via the steps at the shallow end.
  7. Places for the Aquafit will be limited with 4 places in each section of the pool to allow for social distancing when members are standing still.
  8. Where possible, be aware of personal space when moving in the pool and ensure you stay 2 metres away from other members in the pool.
  9. When finishing your session, exit using the pool steps and walk around the pool, using the one way system, and collect your swim tub.
  10. Poolside showers are available for a quick rinse if necessary. Changing room showers aren’t available.

  12. When ready to leave, swimming tubs can be left by the changing room exit,
  13. Follow the exit signs out of the building, using hand sanitiser as you leave.
  14. Changing rooms will be cleaned in between sessions.
