'Live well with LiveWire'

In line with Government directives we will be reopening a number of our sites for gym sessions and group exercise classes on Saturday 25th July as part of Phase 1 of reopening our leisure facilities.

The three neighbourhood hubs: Great Sankey, Orford Jubilee and Woolston Neighbourhood Hubs will be reopening their leisure facilities as part of Phase 1. Birchwood Leisure & Tennis Complex and Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub will continue to offer pre-bookable external tennis courts.

The three Hubs have been selected for reopening their leisure facilities as they are the largest sites meaning it is easier to implement social distancing measures there. They also have flexible outdoor areas available for outdoor physical activity.

We know that many of our members are keen swimmers, and will want to get back into the pool. We have reviewed the Swim England guidance, released recently, to assist us in our planning for re-opening pools. From Monday 10th August 2020 the pools at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub will be reopening for pre-bookable Lane and Family Swims and Squad Sessions will re-commence at Woolston Neighbourhood Hub.

You can find more swimming FAQs here.

Limited LiveWire sites are currently available in line with member demand, and also due to site-specific practicalities of maintaining social distancing measures. We would like to reassure our members that these factors are being closely monitored to help dictate when our other sites and their pools will reopen. At this present time we are unfortunately unable to provide any fixed timelines on this.

You can find more swimming FAQs here.

We understand there are members keen to return to their lessons. Following the initial re-opening of our pools we will be focussed on how we can safely bring our Learn to Swim Programme back to the pool in line with all relevant guidelines. We are hopeful swimming lessons will return in September 2020 and all members will be contacted when more details are available.

You can find more swimming FAQs here.

Gymnastics lessons are not restarting at this time and we do not have a restart date currently confirmed. Once we have safely restarted the initial leisure activities planned in Phase 1 of reopening we will look at the potential to restart more of our activities according to official guidance and with the safety of members and staff as the priority. We thank everyone for their patience in the meantime.

Squash courts are now available to hire at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub only. Bookings can be made online via the LiveWire app or by calling the Customer Hub on 01925572504. Court hire is included in your membership for those people who have reactivated their membership since the 25th of July.  All other users (so Starter & Saver members and Select members still on suspend) are welcome but will need to pay the applicable casual fees.

Visit https://www.englandsquash.com/back-to-squash/guidance-for-players for advice on returning to the court safely.

All-inclusive ‘Select’ members can either reactivate their memberships, or keep them suspended. No memberships will be automatically restarted in the first instance.

Members who wish to unsuspend their membership to be able to benefit from all-inclusive access to the activities on offer at reopening should complete the online form HERE – this applies to both monthly direct debit and annual members.

Annual members have the choice to restart their membership with the equal amount of time added on at the end, or keep memberships suspended during this initial reopening period.

Yes – all group exercise classes and gym slots can be paid for on a pay per activity basis – booked and paid for in advance online.

Due to social distancing we will have to limit the number of people on site. In order to do this, we will be asking you to pre-book your visit in advance. We regret it will not be possible during the first phase of re-opening to attend without pre-booking and we thank you in advance for your co-operation with this.

Booking will be available via the LiveWire website and App using your username and password seven days in advance. It is however important that you initially register for the Online service and we have your current email address registered on our system as this will act as verification, along with your membership card number.  We have prepared this flowchart to help you through the booking process.

There will be no shower or changing facilities available until further notice.

There will be limited lockers available for short-term use at Great Sankey and Woolston Neighbourhood Hubs. There will be no lockers in use at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.

Yes, a limited number of toilets will be open at each Hub site and subject to an enhanced cleaning schedule.

We have implemented a range of measures to help keep customers and staff safe. These include a contactless check-in process, new one-way systems around parts of the buildings and new exit routes in place. Social distancing will be adhered to in all areas including reception, gym areas and group exercise classes, including redistribution of gym equipment to allow for social distancing. Enhanced deep cleaning schedules have been established, including all equipment, and hand sanitiser will be available for customers and staff.

You may wish to familiarise yourself with the new equipment layout and floorplans at each site prior to arrival:

Gym slots are currently restricted to 1 hour sessions. You will be able to move freely between the designated Fitness Suite spaces during this 1 hour session and the customer journey is slightly different at each site so you may wish to familiarise yourself with the new equipment layout and floorplans prior to arrival – please click HERE

The outline class timetable is available on our website here.

We have created an all-new timetable made up of classes and instructors across our sites, and in line with expected demand. We are running with a reduced group fitness programme at the first point of reopening and as such we are not able to offer the full programme as it was prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is in the interests of safety for both our staff and members, and also in line with the anticipated demand. It will then be our plan to quickly further develop our timetable offering (without compromising safety) in line with member demand, and of course continuing to adhere to government guidelines.

Customers can only book a maximum of 2 activities per day: 2 classes, 2 gym slots, or 1 of each.

The standard fee for each group fitness class is £4.75 and £6.25 for a gym session (adults). 11-15 year olds are able to access the gym with a paying adult for a reduced price of £3.65. Reduced prices also apply for Saver and Saver Concession memberships.

Yes, customers aged 11-15 may attend the gym but will need to be supervised by an adult (18 or over) on a 1:2 ratio (adult:child). There will not be any dedicated Junior gym slots during the initial reopening period.

Customers aged 11-15 may book gym slots between the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday – any time up to 6pm
  • Fridays – any time
  • Saturday / Sunday – any time after 12pm

Customers aged 14-15 may attend the classes but will need to be supervised by an adult (18 or over) on a 1:2 ratio (adult:child).

No, for hygiene reasons mats will not be available for people to use in group exercise classes. Members who wish to use a mat will have to bring their own from home.

Yes, we have launched a new virtual membership called LiveWire@Home. LiveWire@Home is currently only available to our re-activated Select members, however it will soon be available to purchase for a fee of £5.99 month (date TBC).

We are offering outdoor classes – please see the Group Exercise Timeable for more details.

Court hire is included in your membership for those people who have reactivated their membership since the 25th of July.  All other users (so Starter & Saver members and Select members still on suspend) are welcome but will need to pay the applicable casual fees.

Please view the Player Guidance documents available here https://www.badmintonengland.co.uk/return-to-play/  for advice on returning to the court safely.

Staff will be available to direct you and, if required, designated queue lines will be clearly marked. You will be manually checked-in by a member of staff. The self-check-in machines are temporarily not in use.

In line with Public Health England guidelines you do not need to wear a face covering while in the gym or during a group exercise glass. However the use of PPE is a personal choice so if you prefer to wear a face covering you are welcome to do so.
