Professional Qualification in Primary School PE Specialism and Subject Leadership in Levels 5 and 6 are new nationally recognised qualifications for primary school teachers and higher level teaching assistants. The certificates have been developed by the Association for Physical Education (afPE) and Sports Leaders UK; both are an effective use of the physical education and school sport premium funding. By obtaining levels 5 and 6 and up skilling primary school teachers ensures sustainable high quality teaching is apparent in primary school physical education.
This is not a masters qualification but a professional course designed to increase subject knowledge and impact on the teaching and learning of primary school physical education (level 5) as well as developing management and advocacy skills (level 6).
