Location: HMP Risley and HMP Thorn Cross Prison Library
Hours: Variable depending on business need
Salary: £8.82- £9.37 per hour. National Living Wage of £10.18 per hour for age 23 years and over, National Minimum Wage £10.42 age 21 – 22.
Contract type: Variable Permanent Hours
LiveWire is seeking to appoint individuals to work in Risley and Thorn Cross Prison library on variable hours. The hours of work are not guaranteed and will depend on the needs of the service.
Work within a prison library is challenging yet very rewarding as access to books and information can make a meaningful difference to offenders by helping them to change their lives for the better.
We are looking for individuals who are flexible, passionate about the value of reading and genuinely committed to equality and diversity. Excellent customer servicing skills are required and also practical experience of using ICT especially Excel and Word.
Previous experience of working in a library or prison environment is desirable, but not essential as training will be given.
The successful applicant will be required to apply for prison security clearance.
