Hours: 15 per week
Salary: £6,900.00 – £7,332.00 (From 1st April 2023 National Minimum Wage £10.18 age 21- 22 years and National Living Wage £10.42 age 23 years and over)
Contract Type: Permanent, part time hours.
Work within a prison library is challenging yet very rewarding. An opportunity has arisen for someone to join the team at HM Risley Prison Library as a part time Library Assistant. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to offenders by helping to change their lives for the better.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the value of reading and who will encourage and support informal learning.
You must have a genuine commitment to equality and diversity and although previous experience of working in a library or prison environment is desirable training will be given.
Excellent customer servicing skills are required and also practical experience of using ICT especially Excel and Word.
This is a 16 hour job with hours to be worked Monday to Wednesday. The rota for the pattern of hours is as follows
- Monday 1:30-5pm (3.5hrs)
- Tuesday 1:30-5pm (3.5hrs)
- Wednesday 8-5pm (8hrs)
The successful applicant will be required to apply for prison security clearance.
