All LiveWire libraries have computers available to use. You can use a computer for 60 minutes per day across Warrington free of charge.  After 60 minutes there is a charge of £1 for up to an hour (concessions 50p) for extra time . To use a computer you must be a LiveWire library member and agree to the libraries’ Acceptable use policy.  If you are not already a Library member join online and collect your ticket at the library.

Please note, public access computers shut down 15 minutes before the closing time of the library (this includes lunchtime closing).

Each library offers

  • Computers with Microsoft Windows
  • Free access to the Internet for 60 minutes (charges apply after that time)
  • Printing in colour or black and white for a small charge
  • Scanning facilities
  • MS Office 2010 - Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and Publisher
  • Access to a range of free online resources e.g. Encyclopaedias, dictionaries and family history websites.
  • Access to USB ports and CD re-write facilities, a small few still have floppy disk drives.
  • Memory sticks are available to buy


Free WiFi access is available in all libraries

Children and young people under the age of 16

Children and young people can use the computers if a parent or guardian has read and completed the Internet use for children form.

Computer Bookings

To guarantee an available computer, library members can contact the library and quote the number from the back of their library card. It is advisable to pre-book a computer if scanning facilities are required.

Computers courses for beginners

Short courses and support sessions are available in some libraries.
