Woolston Hub Update and FAQs

Following recent comprehensive disinfection, testing and flushing of the water system, legionella remains present in the water system.

As a result, Woolston Hub will stay closed for the foreseeable future.

We are working with specialists to assess the full extent of the work and costs required to repair the hub.

We’ll continue to share updates as soon as more information is available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my membership elsewhere while Woolston Hub is closed?

Yes. All members are welcome to continue using any other LiveWire sites during this period.

Are my payments affected?

Memberships remain active and valid across our other hubs and facilities. If you have specific questions about your membership, please email leisure@livewirewarrington.org.

Is it safe to use other LiveWire centres?

Yes. Routine water testing is carried out across all LiveWire sites, and no issues have been identified elsewhere.

When will Woolston Hub reopen?

The hub will remain closed for the foreseeable future while we assess the full scope of work and costs for repair. We’ll provide regular updates as soon as more information is available.

For Library Users

  • All fines on books from Woolston Library will be waived.
  • Items can be renewed online where required.
  • LiveWire libraries offer free e-books and e-audio items.
  • People can also use all other LiveWire libraries.
  • Library queries can be directed to libteam@livewirewarrington.org.

For Leisure Customers

  • Woolston’s fitness classes have been relocated to Orford. We have introduced additional classes, and increased class numbers, to accommodate Woolston members. Visit the LiveWire website for more information.
  • LiveWire members can use their membership at any of our other leisure sites. Members can email leisure@livewirewarrington.org if they have any questions.

For Home Instead Users

  • Home Instead has relocated to Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.
  • Customers are advised to continue to access the Home Instead service from our Orford site.

For Woolston GP Surgery Patients

  • Please advise customers to call 01925 815333 if they have any appointment queries or visit the surgery web page.
